The place

Staffed refuge of CAI Turin at 2285 m at the locality of Lavassey, at the head of the Val di Rhêmes (Aosta Valley, Italy), at the gateway to the Gran Paradiso National Park. Capacity of 60 places. Season from March to September, with limited weekend service in late June and September. Winter room available. Restrooms and showers renovated since 2013. A classic base for spring ski mountaineering with 14 accessible summits, from the easiest (Galisia, Calabre) to the most demanding (Tsantelèina, Granta Parey). Contact +39 0165 936143.
