The place
Staffed hut at 2,172 m in the Val Vergonèss, a side valley of the Val Verzasca in the Ticino Lepontine Alps, managed by the Società Escursionistica Verzaschese (SEV). New building with twenty-seven beds with mattresses and blankets, replacing an older thirty-two-bed structure. Base for the ascent of the Pizzo Barone (2,864 m), the highest peak of the Val Verzasca, and for swimming at Lago Barone (2,391 m) below the pass to the south.
