The place

Stone and wood refuge at 2132 m in the Mont Avic Natural Park, municipality of Champdepraz (Aosta Valley, Italy), at Lac Blanc, close to Lake Bianco, Lake Nero and Lake Vallette. Classic route starting from Champorcher. Capacity of about 40 people in bunk-bed rooms with shared bathrooms on each floor, typical Aosta Valley cuisine. No winter room available. Splendid view of Mont Avic, Monte Rosa, the Matterhorn and the Dent d'Hérens. Access via the hamlet of Petit Mont Blanc (La Cort), where you can park; the mule track to the refuge begins immediately to the right of the parking area.
