Rifugio Alpini di Concesio
The place
Refuge in Località Colma at about 556 m (DB 550 m), built by the Gruppo Alpini di Concesio (ANA section of Brescia, Lombardy) after great effort and inaugurated on May 31, 1992. Simple, linear building, designed not to spoil the landscape: stones gathered on site, electrical system powered 100% by solar energy (zero environmental impact). Semi-underground level with a large kitchen and dining room; naive frescoes depicting scenes of alpine life. Open on Sundays thanks to volunteers; group visits by reservation at anaconcesio@gmail.com. A cross near the refuge commemorates the fallen and missing Alpini; an annual Via Crucis on Palm Sunday with the people of Concesio.
