Rifugio Alpe Spluga in the Val Bavona/Val Bedretto, canton of Ticino (Switzerland), at 1838 m, on the southern foothills of the Basodino massif. Former Walser alp converted into a refuge, heritage of the German-speaking Walser colonies in Italian-speaking Ticino (a linguistic paradox). Zone with larches, Swiss pines and siliceous alpine meadows. On the Sentiero Cristallina and Alta Via Ticinese circuits.
