Rifugio Alpe al Böc in the Val Malenco/Valtellina, Chiesa in Valmalenco/Torre Santa Maria area (province of Sondrio, Lombardy, Italy), at 1600 m elevation, on the south side of the Bernina/Disgrazia massif. Part of the continuous Val Malenco cluster (batches 240+257). A former alpine farm converted into a refuge, part of the heritage of CAI Sondrio and of the region's talc and serpentine (pietra ollare, used for traditional Alpine stoves) extraction. Area of larches, Swiss stone pines, and subalpine meadows.
