Rifugio al Cedo
The place
The unstaffed alpine refuge Dante Castelnuovo "al Cedo", located at 1560 m on the alpine pastures of the Alpe al Cedo in the Val d'Ossola, in the Vigezzo (Piedmont, Italy). Managed by the Vigezzo section of the Italian Alpine Club (CAI), with the key to be collected from the section. 19 sleeping places, running water and a stove. A balcony position over the alpine pastures and massifs separating the Ossola from neighbouring Swiss Ticino (Val Verzasca). The refuge serves as a base for hikers and climbers travelling the cross-border trails of this little-frequented area, in the wild atmosphere typical of the Ossola prealps. Access via the traditional trails from the Vigezzo valley.
