The place

Refuge at 1754 m at Rasos de Peguera (municipality of Castellar del Riu, Berguedà, Catalonia, province of Barcelona), owned by the Centre Excursionista Montserrat de Manresa. Built in 1933 and inaugurated on 9 December that same year, originally to house skiers arriving by mule or on foot from Berga. Today the oldest mountain refuge in Catalonia devoted to sport — Catalan skiing was born on this very spot in 1908. A stage on the Camí dels Bons Homes.
