The place
Refuge at 1574 m on the south side of Monte Tersadia, in the Carnic Alps (province of Udine, Friuli-Venezia Giulia). The mountain group extending from Monte di Rivo (west) to Monte Tersadia (east) holds a central, isolated position in Carnia, with a 360° panorama from the Hohe Tauern in the north to the Adriatic in the south, and from the Dolomites in the west to the highest Julian Alps in the east. Access by forest road from Rivalpo: 4.5 km of road, partly asphalted (only when the malga is open), from the small church of San Martino, up to the Malga Valmedan Alta. Summer agritourism with accommodation available. Organic farming: 15 cows, as many donkeys, and numerous goats.
