The place
Sleeping spots: 6 Water nearby Very good condition but rather damp on the ground floor Upper floor dry and fitted with camp beds. Useful for visiting the caves located higher up and used for that reason by cavers. Two access trails. Avoid the sentiero sereno (serene trail!) on the way down (acrobatic and exposed via-ferrata-type sections) Property of the nature park, part open to the public
Getting there
Trois itinéraires : depuis Sella Nevea via le sentier CAI 635-659 « Troi dai Sacs » (environ 2h) ; depuis Pian della Sega via le CAI 645 (environ 1h30) ; ou variante exposée « Sentiero Sereno » réservée aux randonneurs expérimentés.
The setting
Situé à 1404m dans le Val Raccolana (commune de Chiusaforte), au pied du Mont Canin, sur un balcon panoramique face au massif et aux plateaux du Montasio.
A bit of history
Le bâtiment résulte de la reconversion d'une ancienne casera (alpage à fromage) au-dessus du versant sud du Val Raccolana. Le nom provient du Fontanon di Goriuda, une résurgence karstique voisine formant une cascade remarquable. Géré comme ricovero montano toujours ouvert, sous la responsabilité du Parc naturel des Préalpes Juliennes.
