The place

Bivouac at 1613 m in the Val Zemola in the Friulian Dolomites (municipality of Erto e Casso). A two-level building: eight sleeping spots on a wooden platform upstairs, a main room with a fireplace and a second room used as a wood store. Heating, cooking facilities, blankets, water nearby. Panoramic view of Monte Duranno and possible ascent of Monte Porgeit. The Casera Galvana is closely tied to the legend of the Witch Galvana, and is frequently mentioned in the literary work of Mauro Corona, who visits it regularly. Access from Val Zemola via the CAI 374 trail, about 2 h uphill, moderate difficulty.
