The place
A casera-bivouac at 1711 m on a splendid panoramic hillside, in the Dolomiti Friulane Natural Park (province of Pordenone, Friuli-Venezia Giulia). The structure consists of two buildings: the larger one is closed and reserved for the Park's activities; the smaller one functions as an always-open shelter, with two adjoining rooms — fireplace, table, 2 sleeping places on a platform in the first room, 4 further sleeping places in the second. Classic access from Stai di Mela via the Cava del Buscada forest road then CAI trail 381 (1h45, grade T); or from the Rifugio Maniago in 1h15 along a beautiful forest trail. A stage in the Val Zemola, in the Monte Duranno and Vajont area.
