The place
Historic relay hut in the back country of Mont-Rolland (Laurentians, Québec), accessible via the P'tit Train du Nord (bike path and cross-country ski trail) and the Parc de la Rivière Doncaster. The relay hut was built in the 1970s by Eddy Fortier during the golden age of cross-country skiing in the Laurentians, and has been rebuilt several times since; his grandson Pascal Drolet now keeps up its legacy and upkeep. A welcoming stop on the family-friendly trails along the Doncaster river, also reachable on foot or snowshoe from the P'tit Train du Nord. Set among maple groves and small canyons in the Sainte-Adèle - Sainte-Marguerite back country. Open, unstaffed refuge, freely accessible, no booking required.

From the P'tit Train du Nord (Mont-Rolland, Sainte-Adèle), access on foot, snowshoe or cross-country ski via the Parc de la Rivière Doncaster.
