Refugiul Călțun

The place

Alpine hut of Salvamont Sibiu on the main ridge of the Munții Făgăraș (Romanian Carpathians), at 2,160 m near Lake Călțun. New eco-friendly 36 m² building split into two rooms, capacity 22 people (the old 1975 hut accommodated 15-18 people, up to 30 in an emergency). A must-pass point on the Făgăraș traverse, in the immediate vicinity of Negoiu and the Călțun-Lăițel pass.
