Refugio Peña de la Cruz

The place

Refuge high in the Sierra de Béjar (province of Salamanca, Spain), at 1,443 m, 3 km above the Albergue de Peña Negra. Panoramic views over the range and beautiful sunsets. Access by car or on foot via a forest track, or by the traditional Registros trail on foot only. Bar open on weekends from 11am to 5pm, serving light fare and mountain dishes. Outdoor bouldering, a starting point towards Peña Negra and close to the La Covatilla ski resort. Managed by Tiempo Libre B.612 (a leisure school recognised by the Junta de Castilla y León).
