Located within the Lagunas Glaciares de Neila Natural Park, right next to the Laguna de las Pardillas and Laguna de los Patos glacial lakes. A setting of glacial origin with great scenic and wildlife value. Neighbouring towns: Neila and Quintanar de la Sierra (northern Sierra de la Demanda). Unstaffed refuge, minimal facilities, a typical stop for hiking and observing the glacial landscapes of the Sierra de Neila.
