Refugio Forestal Tres Aguas

Burgos · Espagne0 mUnguardedVerified listing

The place

Unstaffed refuge on forest land in the Sierra de la Demanda, on the Camino de San Antonio in Fresneda de la Sierra Tirón (province of Burgos, Spain). The Tirón river rises in Fresneda at a spot called Tres Aguas, referring to the confluence of three springs, which gives the refuge its name. Building with capacity for 20 people, designed to offer basic shelter to climbers and hikers; no reservation needed since access is open to all. An excellent base for several signature routes of the Sierra de la Demanda, including the Pico de la Demanda route — a demanding roughly 11 km traverse to one of the highest peaks in the area, with views over the whole range.
