Refugio de Sabocos
The place
Refuge framed by the summits of Peña Sabocos (2757 m) and Pico del Verde (2295 m), mirrored in the Ibón de Sabocos at nearly 1900 m, in the Panticosa area (Tena Valley, Huesca, Aragonese Pyrenees). The Ibón de Sabocos is a glacial lake in a cirque; the Asnos and Sabocos ibones lie next to the Panticosa resort area, reachable by the Panticosa cable car, making it a very popular summer spot for families. A mineral and lake-studded setting suspended in time, dominated by greens in summer and golds in autumn, disturbed only by the wind and the murmur of water. A useful base for climbing Peña Sabocos, Pico del Verde, or exploring the Ripera valley and its waterfalls.
Getting there
Panticosa cable car then trail toward the Asnos and Sabocos ibones.
