The place
Free shelter located at about 1050 m in the Sierra de la Demanda (province of Burgos, Spain), a small building typical of the converted pastoral shelters or ICONA-built structures found throughout the range. The Sierra de la Demanda, which straddles the provinces of Burgos, La Rioja and Soria within the north-western Iberian System, is structured around the mountain groups of the Sierra de San Millán, Mencilla and Neila. The shelter serves as a stop on the Ruta de la Dehesa and other family-friendly trails in the Alarcia area, set among ancient oak and beech woods with wide views over the range. Free shelter with no staffing.
