Refugio de la Camorca
The place
Small free refuge at 1808 m on the Cerro de la Camorca (sometimes spelled Camorza), above the Valsaín valley, in the Segovia part of the Sierra de Guadarrama (Castile and León, Spain) — not to be confused with the Sierra Nevada. Small stone structure with a single-pitch roof, welcoming and offering spectacular views of the surrounding peaks, notably the Montón de Trigo peak. Inside: a wood-burning "salamander" stove, a bench, door and window in good condition. Access from the Navacerrada pass or the Fuenfría pass.
Getting there
Départ au Puente de la Cantina (route CL-601). Depuis le parking, traverser la route et suivre le sentier balisé GR 10.1, continuer jusqu'au ruisseau Arroyo de las Navas de la Horca, prendre sa variante sud jusqu'au lieu-dit Divisoria de los Berciales, puis poursuivre au nord par une piste forestière peu marquée.
The setting
Petite cabane en pierre à toit à un seul pan, versant nord (côté ségovien) du Puerto de la Fuenfría, Sierra de Guadarrama, commune de Real Sitio de San Ildefonso, province de Ségovie. Équipement minimal (poêle type salamandre, banc intérieur, une fenêtre, une porte), capacité très réduite.
