Refugio de Iguarra

Huesca · Espagne0 mUnguardedVerified listing

The place

Free mid-mountain refuge in the Aragonese Pyrenees (Spain) — not the Navarrese Pyrenees, as one might assume. Reached from Biescas (Alto Aragón, Gállego Valley) via a trail of about 1h30 and 450 m elevation gain. The trail forks: one branch heads toward the dolmen de Santa Elena, the other toward the refuge and the Iguarra plains ("planos"). Located on a high plateau, a base for the loop hike toward Gavín. Unstaffed refuge, minimal facilities.
