The place
Refugio de Galín Gómez in the Sierra de Gredos, southern side (province of Ávila, Castile and León, Spain), at 1,782 m altitude, in the Candeleda/El Arenal sector. Part of the continuous Gredos cluster (batches 209+218+220+223). A FEDME refuge dedicated to a local mountaineer, on the ascent routes of the Almanzor (2,591 m, highest peak of the Sistema Central). Alpine zone home to the Gredos ibex.
