Refugio de Coronas / Pescadores

The place

Free unstaffed refuge at 1970 m near the Puente de Coronas, near Benasque, in the Posets-Maladeta Natural Park (Aragonese Pyrenees, Huesca). Also known as Refugio de Pescadores, Refugio de Vallibierna or Refugio de Ballibierna. Managed by the Benasque town hall. Basic space with two sleeping platforms, fireplace (wood usually available), table, wooden benches, emergency radio. Strategic base for climbing many of the massif's peaks, including the Aneto via the Estasen couloir.
