The place
Free refuge also known as Refugio de Lacuars in the Canal Roya valley, about 1h10 from the Canal Roya recreational area near Candanchú (Huesca, Aragon, Spain, close to the French border). Used by shepherds, in a condition that allows an overnight stay; two areas, one of them in poorer condition. A stage toward the Ibones de Anayet (3h35, 2,227 m) with views of the volcanic Anayet peaks and the Pic du Midi d'Ossau.
