Refugio de Belsué

The place

Refuge known as Santa María de Belsué, in the Sierra y Cañones de Guara Natural Park (Huesca, Aragon). Originally the house of the engineer who worked on building the dam, converted into a refuge by the Peña Guara mountain club after construction finished. Esplanade and spring nearby, staircase of about 240 steps leading down to the Belsué dam. Starting point for hikes to the Belsué dolmen, the Cueva Ártica and views over the Garganta de Cienfuens.
