The place

Small stone choza-refuge in the province of Huesca (Aragón, Spain), in the upper Pyrenean Aragón region, at 1186 m. A traditional basic shelter type ('choza') of the high valley, used by shepherds and gradually converted into a stop for hikers on forest tracks and high-altitude trails. The region has 17 staffed refuges and 3 additional unstaffed ones under the Aragonese Mountain Federation. Simple stone construction, no services. A good base for a stage on local trails.
