The place
Former forestry house converted into a refuge-bivouac at the end of stage 11 of the GR 247 "Bosques del Sur" (Cazorla - Collado Zamora, 12.88 km / +785 m / -164 m), Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas (Jaén, Andalusia). Access via the JF-7093 forest track from La Iruela or from the source of the Guadalquivir. Bunk beds, table and benches. Route in the western part of the park, climbing from the historic town of Cazorla with wide views over the countryside. On a clear day, you can see the Sierra Nevada massif to the south and the Sierra Mágina Natural Park to the east. Refuge-bivouac reserved for hikers and cyclists with priority for GR 247 users — no access for motor vehicles, maximum 2 consecutive nights.
