The place
Staffed refuge located at 2156 m altitude in the Serra d'Ensija, in Catalan Berguedà. Run by wardens Ester Godina and Roger Cararach, it offers 31 places during the staffed season plus 4 freely accessible bunk places. Open year-round, it is particularly well suited to winter activities: snowshoeing and ski touring.
Getting there
Vehicle access via Saldes-Gósol to the Coll de la Trapa, then a paved road toward Font Freda. On foot: 1 h 30 from Font Freda, 1 h 45 via the Llobateres ravine, 2 h 30 from Creu de Fumanya.

A bit of history
Inauguré en septembre 1964 par la Federació d'Entitats Excursionistes de Catalunya (alors Federació Catalana de Muntanyisme) — onzième refuge construit par la fédération à l'époque, sur un modèle architectural partagé avec les refuges de Sant Jordi et Estanys de la Pera.
