The place

Staffed refuge at 1890 m at the foot of the Encantats massif, near the Sant Maurici dam, in the Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici national park (Pallars Sobirà, Catalonia). Building transferred by Endesa to the FEEC, staffed since 1975. Capacity 34 people during the staffed season, plus 3 additional spaces without mattress or heating in the free-access section out of season. Open year-round, road access to Prat de Pierró closed from 1 December to Easter. A stage on the GR 11 and the Carros de Foc loop connecting the park's refuges.
