Refugi deth Ueth deth Garona
The place
Free, unstaffed refuge located at 1870 m altitude, 50 m from the source of the Garonne, which has been captured and turned into a fountain, in the Val d'Aran (Naut Aran, Catalonia). Two rooms: a large empty room and a second, well-insulated one with a concrete floor, 2 framed beds, table, benches and fireplace. Open all year. Nearby: Peira deth Ueth Garona, a Neolithic dolmen or menhir.
Getting there
From Baqueira (Val d'Aran), take the paved C142b road that climbs to the Pla de Beret for 6 km.

A bit of history
Le nom, en aranais (occitan), signifie « l'œil de la Garonne » et désigne la source captée du fleuve Garonne, toute proche de la cabane.
