The place

Free-access refuge in the commune of Serra (Valencian Community, Spain — not in Catalonia despite the confusion). Abandoned building in acceptable condition, roughly 5 x 9 m: entrance door preserved, fireplace, three barred windows without glass, interior room with its own roof. Capacity about 4 people in the interior room, 4 more in the loft, 4 more in the fireplace area — beyond 8 people, conditions are uncomfortable. Access via a stone track from the main road, about 100 m before the El Chaparral restaurant, then 300 m on foot or by high-clearance 4x4. No water source nearby, almost no mobile coverage.
