Refugi del Pla de l'Espluga

The place

Old single-story building at 1200 m at the Pla de l'Espluga col, near Gombrèn (Ripollès, Catalonia), with a gabled roof. Part served as a barn, the other as a shelter with a simple fireplace. Poor condition. Capacity 15 places, owned by the Forestry Service. Access via the C-17 from Ripoll to Campdevànol, then the GI-401 and C662 to Gombrèn, forest track toward the Montgony sanctuary, and a left fork for 3 km toward the Mataplana castle.
