The place
Small shelter (caseta) for hikers above Villamalur, a municipality in the Alto Mijares district (province of Castellón, Valencian Community), at the northwestern end of the Sierra de Espadán Nature Park. The village sits at 644 m on a scenic hilltop. The shelter is reached in a 20-minute walk from the Rambla de Villamalur recreation area, via the GR-36; 1.2 km from the Fuente de la Era Concejo on the PR-CV 276 (Ayódar-Villamalur loop). A simple, unstaffed stopover for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts of the Sierra de Espadán.
