The place
Refuge rehabilitated by ADF de Teià volunteers between 1998 and 1999, in the Parc de la Serralada Litoral (Maresme, Catalonia) — not the Pyrenees, as one might assume for a "refugi català". Simple rectangular-plan building that formerly served as a forge workshop ("ferreria"). A stopover for hiking in the Catalan coastal range, which extends between Barcelonès and Maresme. No warden: hut open for free use by hikers, with very basic facilities.
