The place

Unmanned refuge at 1980 m at the confluence of the río Contraix and the río Sant Nicolau, in the Boí valley (Catalonia, near the Aigüestortes National Park), 10 min from the Refuge d'Estany Llong. The "open" counterpart to Estany Llong when the manned refuge is closed. Capacity of 10 places. Equipped with blankets, mattresses, emergency radio, fireplace and firewood. Very pretty little unmanned refuge, comfortable, exceptional setting (pine and fir forest, stream nearby).
