Refugi de Boumort
The place
Unstaffed hut (refugi lliure / bivouac) at the foot of the Cap de Boumort, in the commune of Conca de Dalt, in the Pallars Jussà — western Catalan Pyrenees. A basic refuge with no bedding, blankets, mattresses, showers, toilets, heating or radio, and no kitchen or water access. Access by car via the forest track linking Hortoneda to Pessonada. Located at the heart of the Boumort national hunting reserve, created by Law 17/1991 of the Parliament of Catalonia, part of the PEIN and the Natura 2000 network. The area is home to one of the largest deer populations in the Pyrenees, particularly observable during the rutting season (September-October). DB gives 1885 m; external sources 1920 m.
