Chalet Anglios: A Rustic Mountain Refuge Chalet Anglios, located in the beautiful Pyrenees, is a mountain refuge renovated in 2006. With a capacity of 6 spaces on wooden sleeping platforms, this chalet offers comfortable lodging for hikers and nature lovers. Access and Routes *From the N230:* - Park at kilometre 147, near the large Baserca lake. - Follow the trail (GR11) to the left before the bridge over the Riu Salenques. - At 1625m, take the left-hand trail (still GR11), which climbs steeply through a deciduous forest. - After about 2h30 of walking, reach the plateau where the chalet stands. *From the Llauset dam car park:* - Take the road to the village of Aneto from the N230 south of the Vielha tunnel. - Follow the driveable track for 9 km to the Llauset tunnel, and park just after it. - Follow the yellow-marked path toward the Col d'Anglios and descend the north side to reach the refuge. - About 1h20 walk from the car park. Surroundings and Landscape Nestled in a magnificent natural setting, Chalet Anglios offers a stunning view over the Estany Gran d'Anglios lake. The rustic character of the wooden chalet blends perfectly with the alpine environment. Practical Information Cost: Free. Availability: Closed in winter. Booking: Not required, available on a first come, first served basis. Notes The dam road is closed in winter. Crossing the tunnel depends on the gates being open at each end. Although signs indicate it is forbidden to pedestrians, the road through the tunnel remains passable and in good condition.
