Refuge Willy Jervis
The place
Italian refuge of the CAI UGET Val Pellice, located at 1,732 m altitude in Bobbio Pellice (Val Pellice, Cottian Alps, Province of Turin, Piedmont). Capacity of 90 beds with facilities and showers on each floor. Open year-round, known for its hospitality and cuisine. Built in 1950 in memory of Willy Jervis, mountaineer and resistance fighter killed by the Nazis during the Second World War.
Getting there
Point de départ classique : Bobbio Pellice puis Villanova (1220 m). Deux sentiers historiques depuis Villanova : le sentiero dell'indritto (en grande partie commun avec la piste carrossable) et le sentiero dell'inverso (plus sauvage, avec de beaux points de vue) ; les deux se rejoignent près de la cascade du Pis. Accès routier depuis Turin : via Pinerolo puis direction Bricherasio–Val Pellice.
The setting
Le refuge est situé au fond du Val Pellice, dans la « suggestiva Conca del Pra » (pittoresque cirque du Pra), à 1732 m d'altitude.
A word from the warden
Le refuge est géré depuis sa réouverture en 1979 par Roby Boulard, guide de haute montagne. Réputé pour son hospitalité, son excellente cuisine et son ambiance familiale chaleureuse.
