The place

Staffed Italian refuge at 2,450 m below the west face of Monviso, in the Val Varaita (Piedmont, province of Cuneo, Italy), managed by CAI section Monviso-Saluzzo. Large stone-and-metal building overlooking the Lac de Bealera Funsa. Capacity 60 places when staffed and 35 in the winter refuge. Season from mid-June to mid-September, spacious winter bivouac available during the closed period. A major stage of the Tour du Mont Viso. Contact +39 0175 956025.
