Rifugio Sella and Rifugio Tuckett: Historic Alpine Heritage The Rifugio Sella and the Rifugio Tuckett, standing near each other on the same site, bear witness to a rich alpine heritage. In 1884, the Italian-speaking Società degli Alpinisti Tridentini (SAT) began construction of the Sella refuge, while the German-speaking Berlin section of the Deutscher und Österreichischer Alpenverein (DÖAV) built the Tuckett refuge twenty metres away. After 1918, the SAT took over the management of all the former DÖAV refuges. Capacity and Opening Period Capacity: 120 people across the two buildings.
