Refuge Robinot
The place
Well-kept unstaffed hut, perched on the heights above Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines in the Alsatian Vosges. Renovated by students of a forestry programme at the Lycée Louise-Weiss, it has a welcoming table, a wood stove and a sleeping area on a mezzanine reached by ladder. A spring flows about 200 metres away but its flow becomes irregular in summer. The outside stovepipe, rusted, draws poorly and causes smoke to blow back when lighting the fire. Access marked by the Club Vosgien's blue and yellow circle markers.
Getting there
Cabane sur les sentiers balisés bleu et jaune près de Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines. Un passage d'environ 300m du tracé jaune a été signalé encombré par des chablis (arbres tombés) en 2023.
The setting
Petite cabane forestière non gardée du massif des Vosges (Haut-Rhin), à proximité immédiate de la forêt. Capacité 6 personnes à l'étage (accès par échelle, sans lits ni matelas) ; rez-de-chaussée avec table et banc ; poêle à bois. Eau à moins de 100m (ruisseau/torrent + puits intermittent), pas de latrines. Un autre abri non gardé, l'Abri du Haut des Yvraux, se trouve à 340m.
