Cabane de l'Albere: A Rustic Shelter in the Heart of Nature Cabane de l'Albere offers sleeping space for 14 people in a pastoral setting, with no modern comforts. With its corner hearth and a rudimentary bench, the shelter is basic but allows for a dry night's stay. Firewood and water supplies are available in abundance for visitors. Access and Routes Several paths lead to Cabane de l'Albere, located in a remote spot: A direct trail starts from the village of Mijanès, near the Bruyante forest road. However, this path is little used and can be hard to follow. The recommended access is from the Mijanès resort, taking the Riou Pla forest road heading south. At the junction after 1 km, take the forest track heading east that descends to the bottom of the valley. Capacity and Comfort Cabane de l'Albere can accommodate up to 14 people overnight. Despite the lack of modern comfort, the shelter allows a few people to sleep on the concrete floor. The nearby supply of wood and water ensures a rustic but authentic camping experience. Availability and Booking The cabin is accessible year-round but it is advisable to book online in advance to guarantee a place, especially during busy periods.
