The place

Major staffed refuge at 1718 m in the heart of the Canigou massif (Vernet-les-Bains, Pyrénées-Orientales). Capacity 53 places in dormitories. 2026 season: open every day from Saturday 23 May to Saturday 3 October inclusive. Booking required. A place for conviviality and sharing: escape, isolation, comfort, rest and calm amid grand nature and landscapes. Access via Vernet-les-Bains and the upper Cady valley; the access track is closed to vehicles at the Col de Jou by ONF decision, a mandatory 1h30 to 2h walk. Key stage on the GR10 and GR36, toward Pla Guillem or the Crête des Sept Hommes for views of the Canigou.
