Refuge Le Tamiset
The place
Unguarded hut at 1320 m in the commune of Chézery-Forens (Ain, Bugey/Haut-Jura massif). Two spaces: living room with table, two bunk beds, cupboard, shelves and wood stove; barn/attic with about twenty sleeping places on bed bases. Tables and chairs in the barn, firewood stored for winter, an axe available on site; in summer, firewood can be gathered nearby. Key hanging on a nail above the door, instructions on the door and inside. No water source nearby.
Getting there
Cette cabane forestière du massif du Jura élargi (Ain), à 1320 m, est desservie par le GRP Grand tour de la Valserine et le GRE4. Le sentier, peu visible et non balisé par endroits, se rejoint depuis Giron ou La Pesse.
The setting
Bâtisse forestière isolée en clairière, sans vue dégagée, entourée de forêt, sans point d'eau à proximité immédiate. Le crêt de Chalam, qui offre un panorama à 360°, se trouve à environ 30 minutes de marche.
