The place

Forest refuge at 1616 m in Ariège, Donezan area, near the ONF car park (Pyrenees). Open in both winter and summer. Two large floors in good condition, a large fireplace, table, chairs and benches; upper floor with 4 foam mattresses and blankets. Water (needs treating, from a stream) and plentiful firewood. Capacity of 8 sleeping places. Access from Le Pla via the Laurenti forest road to the junction with the Canrusc track. The nearby Étang du Laurenti, in the easternmost part of Ariège (Quérigut), fringed with pines, offers an easy hike.
