The place

Forest refuge. A large fireplace, 1 table, 2 benches. No dedicated sleeping spots but you should be able to sleep 4 on the concrete floor (sometimes damp: traces of mud can be seen) by bringing thick sleeping pads, pushing the tables aside and giving it a sweep (bring a broom). Water can be found at the waterfall 100 m above (was flowing well in mid-July), or failing that by following the forest track for 500 m, the stream is permanent. Dry wood in the refuge and plentiful nearby. Heading up the Rébenty valley, 4 km after Méral, at the bend called Pont de la Rouby, take the forest track that follows the Font d'Argent stream to a T-junction. Turn left for 500 m. After the second waterfall, take a grassy forest path descending to the left. After 50 m, the cabin is downhill on the left. ONF
