Refuge Durier

The place

Staffed alpine refuge at 3389 m on the border ridge at the Col de Miage, in the Mont-Blanc massif (Saint-Gervais-les-Bains, Haute-Savoie). Stands 1600 m above the Chalets de Miage plateau. High-mountain setting with pronounced solitude. Mainly serves as a base for climbing the Aiguille de Bionnassay, traversing from the Dômes de Miage or directly from the Plan Glacier, as well as the Dômes de Miage. Capacity 24 spaces in the winter section. The climb to the refuge is reserved for experienced mountaineers; steep path requiring mixed terrain (rock/ice) skills. No drinking-water system, only a funnel on the roof to collect rain and melted snow. Staffed from 7 June to 10 September depending on weather. Run by the FFCAM.
