Refuge du Parmelan (ou Camille Dunant)
The place
FFCAM refuge at 1825 m on the edge of the Parmelan lapiaz plateau, above the hamlet of La Blonnière (commune of Dingy-Saint-Clair, Haute-Savoie, Bornes-Aravis). Built in 1883 and retains its rustic character despite modern amenities. Capacity of 45 places when staffed (season from 14 May to 4 October 2026, warden Philippe Graham) and 10 in the winter shelter. Panoramic views over Lake Annecy, the Aravis, and Mont Blanc. Renowned for the flora and geology of the lapiaz, it is also a major climbing and paragliding site. Nepalese cuisine served on site, cultural evenings and stargazing. "Refuges en famille" label. Getting there
Trois points de départ. 1) L'Anglettaz (1500m, via Aviernoz, accès 4x4 recommandé) : 1h15, +385m, itinéraire familial. 2) Villaz (1169m, via Annecy-le-Vieux) : 2h à 2h15, +717m. 3) La Blonnière (1029m) : 2h30 à 3h30, +803m, via Grand/Petit Montoir ou Col du Pertuis.
The setting
Refuge en bordure de falaise au-dessus du hameau de la Blonnière, sur le plateau lapiazique du Parmelan (massif des Bornes-Aravis), vue panoramique sur le lac d'Annecy, le Mont Blanc et la chaîne des Aravis. Site propice à l'escalade et au parapente.
