Refuge du Nivolet

The place

Small masonry structure resembling a bus shelter at 1510 m, about 100 m below the Croix du Nivolet, in the Bauges massif (Savoie). Serves as a temporary shelter for hikers and picnickers caught in a summer storm. Not designed as a stopover — no permanent indoor equipment, no sleeping arrangements. Free access, first come first served for a few hours of shelter.
