Refuge du coll de Banuyls

The place

Small free-access cabin on the border ridge at the Col de Banyuls, at about 591 m in the Albères massif (Pyrénées-Orientales / province of Girona). Capacity of 12 people, summer and winter, on 4 sleeping platforms spread over two rooms, working fireplace, table and 2 benches; no water in the cabin but a spring nearby that can dry up in early summer. Managed by the Centre Excursionista Empordanès. The Col de Banyuls is now closed to road traffic between France and Spain following a landslide.
